One Thing to Know Before You Scan This List

This occupation goes by a different name in nearly every province, and it's easy to scroll past a real match because the title looks unfamiliar. It all maps to the same NOC (44101, TEER 4):

  • Personal Support Worker (PSW) — the term most used in Ontario and informally nationwide
  • Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) — the standard term across Atlantic Canada (NB, NS, PE, NL)
  • Health Care Aide (HCA) — the standard term in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta
  • Resident Care Aide / Community Health Worker — common BC terminology

If a posting says CCA or HCA instead of PSW, it's very likely the same job.
